Performance, Range, and Charging

The F-150 Lightning is powered by two in-board electric motors, with a choice of two battery sizes. Standard capacity models generate 426 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque and can travel an estimated 230 miles between charges. And with the extended-range battery, power and range rise to 563 hp and 300 miles, respectively. It also enables Lightning's max tow rating of 10,000 pounds. These range estimates account for a payload of 1,000 pounds. So, if you're traveling with an empty bed, the range should be significantly more.

The 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro (standard with extended-range battery) produces 19.2 kW of peak charging power, capable of replenishing the standard battery in about 10 hours. Extended-range models feature a dual onboard charger that can fill the battery even faster (~8 hours). And when using DC fast-charging equipment, like the chargers at highway rest stops, both batteries can charge from 15 to 80% in less than 45 minutes.

Ford Intelligent Backup Power

The battery in the F-150 Lightning doesn't just power the truck itself; it can also run your home during an outage. With the available Ford Intelligent Backup Power system and the 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro, the Lightning can offboard up to 9.6 kW of peak energy. So, if the neighborhood grid goes down, a fully charged extended-range model can power a full household for three days (based on 30-kWh per day) or more if power is rationed.

Mega Power Frunk

With no gasoline engine taking up space under the hood, the F-150 Lightning offers a 14.1-cubic-foot storage area with up to 400 pounds of payload capacity. This sealed compartment keeps your cargo protected from the elements. And since it's washable and drainable, you can use it to carry your dirty gear and spray it out easily when you get home. The Mega Power Frunk also gives you access to 2.4 kW of exportable power, including four standard 120-volt household-style outlets and USB-A and C ports.

Interior, Tech, and Safety Features

The F-150 Lightning is offered as a spacious crew cab with attractive modern design elements, high-quality materials, versatile small-item storage options. There's also tons of advanced tech, like a standard 12-inch digital gauge cluster and 12-inch touchscreen with Ford's next-gen SYNC® 4 infotainment system and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Upgrade to the LARIAT or Platinum trim, and you'll get an extra-large 15.5-inch SYNC® 4A touchscreen with Enhanced Voice Recognition for unprecedented control over a variety of cabin and infotainment functions.
