  • A tool kit or multi-tool
  • Flashlight with batteries
  • Reflective triangles
  • Compass
  • First aid kit
  • Warm and durable blanket
  • Non-perishable foods like unsalted nuts or dried fruit
  • Car phone charger
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Roll of duct tape
  • At least one rain poncho
  • Written emergency contact list
  • Snow brush and small shovel for snow, cat litter for traction on ice, warm clothing, and any other cold weather tool
